Mercado Pago Connection Guide with Mangobeds

If you host in Latin America, you can now charge guests through Mercado Pago right inside Mangobeds. Guests pay with local payment methods, cards (including international ones) and installments (parcelamentos) through Mercado Pago’s hosted checkout, while you keep clean reconciliation in one place.

Before you start (what you need)

  • An active Mercado Pago account in your country.
  • Your Mercado Pago Access Token.
  • The email of your Mercado Pago account (used to label the account in Mangobeds).
  • Your Mangobeds property currency set to a currency Mercado Pago supports in your country.

Where to find your Access Token

  1. Go to the Mercado Pago Developers panel for your country (for example mercadopago.com.br/developers) and log in.
  2. Open Your integrations and create an application (or open an existing one).
  3. Go to Credentials and copy your Access Token. Use Production credentials for real payments, or Test credentials (the token starts with TEST-) for testing.

Heads-up: the Access Token is a secret credential, so treat it like a password. Don’t share it over email or paste it into chat.

Payment methods

Mercado Pago operates across Latin America. Its hosted checkout automatically shows the payment methods available in your country, including credit and debit cards, international cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), installments and local methods. In Brazil, that includes Pix, boleto and paying in installments (parcelamento).

How to set it up in Mangobeds

  1. Go to: Property → Settings → Payment Accounts → Connect Payment Account.
  2. In Create a new payment account, choose Mercado Pago as the provider.
  3. Paste:
    • Mercado Pago Account Email
    • Mercado Pago Access Token
  4. Tick the box confirming you’ve read this guide.
  5. Save to create the payment account, then Connect it to the property.

Heads-up: once a property is linked to a payment account, you can’t swap providers on that property without removing the connection first.

How a guest payment works

  • Mangobeds redirects the guest to Mercado Pago’s hosted checkout page.
  • The guest pays with the method they prefer: card, installments, or a local method such as Pix or boleto in Brazil.
  • Mercado Pago notifies Mangobeds automatically once the payment is confirmed.
  • Mangobeds marks the booking’s payment as Succeeded and sends you the usual property notification email.

Wrap-up

If you host in Latin America, connecting Mercado Pago to Mangobeds gives your guests the local methods and cards they expect (including parcelamento in Brazil) through a secure hosted checkout, while keeping your ops tidy with automatic payment reconciliation. Grab your Access Token, connect, and you’re live.
